Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand MidCentral District: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Amazing service to all staff who work at this hospital. My dad fell out of the plumb tree in 2023 which was the biggest scare of our lives, your staff were very helpful and laughed anytime someone called about the man who fell outta the tree which made it easy for us to chat about. He's doing great and yes he's back up that Plum tree!! Silly man.
Fantastic experience: First visit to the emergency department and the staff do an exceptional job under very difficult circumstances. Still here 24 hours later and every staff member has been professional, kind and friendly without fail. Thank you very much, you are appreciated.
Fantastic experience: Had a recent couple of stays at the hospital, ended getting my very inflamed gall bladder removed which also had multiple perforations into the back wall. From my experience during my stay I have nothing but praise for the nurses, surgeons, anaesthetists who do a wonderful job and are absolutely run off their feet due to the amount of patients being admitted to hospital. A gentleman in the bed next to me was from Whangārei and he was telling all his mates if they wanted to get great medical treatment come to Palmerston North ! Thank you for the wonderful care provided during my stay !
Positive experience: Palmy hospital is a medical facility that is being pushed beyond its budget and staff that are asked to do more for less. Mental health facilities given a new flashy building but no more staff to help the increasing mental health burden. The local district would rather spend money on rebranding the facilities than helping people and burnt out staff. Get a new carpark built that will work with the nearby rescue helicopter service and make sure the singaporian owned company actually does something about vehicle breakins and theft. Engage local medical centers to stay open later and guide people to go see them instead of blowing out the wait times at ER/ED. Granted yes, half the issue is people themselves but not being able to afford medical care is becoming a problem and its not getting any better.
