After years of physio for a bad back that would knock me out for days, sometimes even weeks, I finally worked up the courage to give chiropractic care a go. Looking back, I only wish I’d done it sooner. I woke up Monday morning ( kings birthday) completely locked up on one side. I had never seen Mary before, since then working with Mary for a week on at home exercises And daily adjustments I feel better then I ever have. I’m a hairdresser by trade so to work a day where I’m not in pain has been amazing. Mary you have Curated the most perfect experience within your team. Fantastic experience: I have been suffering from really bad lower back pain and numbness in my upper legs, From the time you walk through the door your greeted by the reception staff who are really easy to deal with. A jug of water with lemon slices is there for you to consume while you wait. The reception staff are all very welcoming. My first consultation with Chad was so awesome and from the time he started his exam I was made to feel at ease and comfortable . Mary and Chad are really amazing and very professional they both really know their stuff, I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone in need of top quality service at very reasonable prices. Fantastic experience: I came to Christchurch Wellness when I was having an issue with radial pruritus, an awfully debilitating itching of the outer forearm. I was beside myself with how could I possibly help myself, without medication from the doctor, which sometimes helped. Dr Google told me the nerves to the arm come from C5/C6 so choosing to seek a chiropractor was my next step. Mary x-rayed me and sure enough there was an issue with C5/C6. I have had 6 weeks (12 visits) of Chiropractic treatment, and weaned myself off the tablets. The itching was non existent from the second visit. Whether this was a coincidence or is my cure, I suppose I will find out in time. I am still doing one visit a week, but intend to get to a monthly visit to keep things in order, or should I say alignment. I have found Mary and Chad both informative and pleasant during visits and would have no hesitation recommending Christchurch Wellness to others.

Fantastic experience: We met Mary 5 years ago whilst travelling in South Island My husband hurt his back after twisting whilst changing a tyre she worked magic on him and he was able to move again pain free after just a couple of sessions. Unbelievable recovery from her knowledgeable treatment. Have returned to sth Island again and both myself and my husband have been in again to see Mary with aches and pains and she has made us feel pain free again. Fantastic experience: Great Great people and atmosphere! Treated like a real person that was not just another piece of paycheck. Very professional and informative. I feel bad for Dr Chad.....he had the challenge of working with me; I'm overweight, older(59) and did not treat my body kindly during my years in construction. I was so stiff from a slide into a sedentary lifestyle and now realizing how bad that is. I didn't make it easy for Dr Chad but he pressed on!!! Well done Sir. As for me.....well ..... I need to loosen up and gain some flexibility so that I can get and feel a proper adjustment that I have had in the past. Hands up for Dr Chad!

Fantastic experience: I came in with extremely bad back pain and was really struggling to sit, along with pins and needles running down my leg. After my treatment, my range of movement has increased massively and I’m already feeling a huge improvement. The care was professional, thorough, and clearly tailored to what my body needed. Fantastic experience: holy hekle berrys.. talk about cool,, sure the video was boring as heck to me.. luckily i was rescued early !! haha all jokes aside,, veeery good people ,, lovely place and the adjustment was a real hands on click adjustment i have been looking for.. far to many rely on the little gun thing that to me is not doing what i need,, i was listened to and i had my neck and back adjusted ,, same day,, as you should as we all know if you pay sometimes upwards of 3 hundred dollars for first visit you expect to be helped,, (this place is not 300) and has really good price on acc,, which is what most of us need in order to pay for our care.. great receptionist too and is a lovely sunny place to walk into.. im soooo happy i found this place,, been for ever looking for a better priced chiro.. see yal in 3 weeks ,, love and light

Fantastic experience: DR Mary helped my foot pain in one treatment after one year off intense pain from plantafasitis with bursitis. As I understand how all the nerves in your body and nervous system correspond to different parts off your body. She also has this understanding of how the body is all interconnect. Fantastic experience: I came to the Wellness Centre after experiencing migraines, neck pain, tailbone pain to the point it was affecting me at work and when sitting at a computer. After sustaining a concussion and neck strain in 2024 and being approved for ACC treatment I chose to seek a treatment plan through the Wellness Centre. An Xray was completed, which showed the areas of my spine that needed healing. I was given exercises to perform at home, and a detailed treatment plan with regular adjustments. I am half way through my treatment plan and feel just amazing! Mary is very skilled , and knows her stuff! My neck pain and migraines have gone, I am able to sit without pain in my tailbone , I feel more clear headed and relaxed, and have learned techniques to clear my sinuses as well. I 100 percent recommend Mary and the Wellness Centre! I will be bringing my teenage son here next, the level of care is exceptional, with exceptional results! Thank you :)

Fantastic experience: Love to rate Christchurch Wellness 10/10. 8 years of care ended in my moving to North Island. First started in 2017 after having open heart surgery and was cared for by 2-3x different chiropractors in total for the first acute treatment over the first year or two and then attended every 5-6 week from maintain care and at any other times when required. Staff are absolutely amazing and Mary incredibly lovely, caring and accommodating. Honestly couldn't recommend anyone better to see. Thank you Mary for helping me have a better quality of life and I’ll will miss you, your care and education!

Fantastic experience: Came to Christchurch Wellness Centre to see Mary on a trusted referral from my highly regarded Chiropractor in Auckland and I've not been disappointed. Since suffering multiple neck and head injuries I've come to rely on regular chiropractic care and having found the best care in Auckland I was concerned that moving to the South would set me back however Mary has been able to literally pick up where my North island care left off which is no mean feat. Thanks to Mary I can continue to ride my bicycle far too fast knowing that the maintenance on my body is as meticulously curated as on the bike itself!

Fantastic experience: I was merely waiting for a bus and sheltering from a blustering Southerly downpour when Mary insisted I take an umbrella from her. Now if that doesn't encompass the wholistic view of looking after ones Wellness I don't know what does. Thank you so much Mary. Negative experience: Lady was too busy looking at herself in the mirror, talked about some solutions that would take multiple sessions and charged me $150 for doing nothing and clearly had no idea of what was happening bc I went to another clinic that realised I just had a inflammated muscle and sorted it out for $40 with anti inflammatory. Stay away from this place.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending regularly for the last 3 months. For years I’ve put up with bad headaches and a really tight thoracic spine. After a few visits My headaches disappeared . I don’t wake up feeling like a stiff board and in pain anymore. I keep up with my treatment plan and I get better and better each time. The team are lovely and very accommodating. Fantastic experience: I have just received my 5th adjustment over a 4 week period and can I say what a relief. Neck, back and chest pains prevented me doing stuff. Pills, yoga and physio were not working prior to engaging Mary. Apparently I did not look great before 1st adjustment and since then better sleep, movement, strength have vastly improved and slight weight loss is happening. Thanks Mary you have given this body a painfree reboot and so much appreciated.

Fantastic experience: I am currently on my 3rd visit to the wellness centre. The 1st time I went I cld feel the changes within mi neck and shoulders after 1st session, and I haven't had sciatica since I left the 1st session. I have years of back pain and trauma related build up in my shoulders, I look forward to the sessions because of how I feel afterwards. I find the centre to be genuine in wanting quality care for their patients. They have been kind and accommodated to my personal situation and I would recommend them to everyone with back issues-who wants better quality of life.

Fantastic experience: I found after my visits to the christchurch wellness centre great more movement in my shoulder that I injured last year more functionality without much pain. Mary and Rachel are a great team of chiropractors and advocate an all over wellbeing of spine health I highly recommend them to you. So thank you very much for the help.

Fantastic experience: I had been suffering form all over back pain for a couple of years now to the point where my husband told me to go and sort it out. I have never been to a chiropractor before so no idea what I should be looking for. After a google search and looking around at a couple different places I came to Christchurch Wellness Centre and I have to say from the first moment that I stepped in the door I felt very welcomed, Matt is always smiling and every time I leave there after seeing Mary I feel so much better. Others around me have noticed the difference in me just after the couple of weeks that I have been. So I highly recommend Christchurch Wellness Centre to anyone looking for a chiropractor and in ending, keep doing what you are doing guys and looking forward to my next visit.

Fantastic experience: I was well accommodated even though I was late for 10 mins to my appointment. Mary did a fantastic job, I felt so light and well adjusted after the treatment.

Negative experience: At the beginning it looked nice. However, after I started the treatment, I got tired of the unpunctuality. People have meetings and things to do, so if you know that there is no time at a certain hour please don't say yes to the booking. First week I got on time and they took me to the room, waited for 30 minutes there and nobody came because they were delayed, I had a meeting so I had to leave, and they called me to explain. I understood that it could happen, so I decided to give them a chance. However, I went the next week, same time, with my booking, and this time they were even worse, I was waiting for more than 30 minutes with the receptionist and another patient in the lounge, there were 2 people in the rooms, so I have no idea how long should I have waited, so I just got annoyed after 30 minutes and left. If you care about your time, don't go. Unless they give you a real time

Fantastic experience: Holy Moly, Mary worked her magic, I was unable to sleep for months and on heavy painkillers due to back pain. After only a few adjustments I was able to sleep again and after a few more I am, now relatively pain free. Amazing lovely people with Kelly always welcoming you with a smile and the best wee therapy dog (Snoopy) that will keep you company as you let your stress melt away. Negative experience: I found that this Chiropractor took a lot longer than my treatment should have. In my opinion it was a waste of money as they wanted to keep me coming back for months which meant i'd be spending more money. I went elsewhere and they fixed my back in 2 treatments.

Fantastic experience: Was injured in USMC as a young man. Been dealing with pain, and seeing Chiropractors, for decades. Was visiting New Zealand for just 2 weeks, and felt very much in need of an adjustment when I arrived. Dr. Patterson got me in on short notice. And gave me the best adjustment I've ever had. Luckily, I was able to get in to see her once again before leaving beautiful New Zealand. Awesome Chiropractor. Very strong.

Fantastic experience: During my NZ holiday I visited Kelly and Mary at the Wellness Centre. I found them helpful, professional and went many extra miles considering I am on holiday and will not become a regular customer. Mary provided insightful information upon the Chiropractic World. Negative experience: Went for my first chiropractor visit ever in December. I wasn’t really sure about it but I really wanted to get rid of my neck pain so was open to try everything. Mary took a very long time (2hours) to finish the consultation because she was also seeing other patients in between while I lay on the table. But the big red flag I see is with the reception lady. Some of my friends told me it’s not quite standard for me to go back for another appointment two days later. Mary and her staff told me it was just to make sure I’m ok and not sore after my first adjustment. So I rang back the following day (24 hrs before my appointment) and said I feel fine and don’t think I need the follow up appointment as it costs $80. As soon as she learnt that her attitude had a 180 change, she said and I quote: “so you have just been wasting our time?!”. Wow.... it’s not like I didn’t pay you for the first appointment and I just wanted time to figure out what I want with this treatment. That made sure I would never ever go back. To them it is all about money. I am now continuing my treatment with another chiropractor in Riccarton who is on time and give me time to think about what course of treatment I want and not get offended by what I want to do with my body. This experience shows me they will only show you sunshine and flower attitude when you show them your wallet :) not worth it.

Fantastic experience: After a while with chronic neck/shoulder pain and 8 physio treatments I had all but given up thinking this is just how my life is going to be from now on but after only 3 treatments I see a light at the end of the tunnel. I have slight pain but being 3 treatment in I am blown away. Mary and the team are so nice and very helpful. This is my first experience with a chiropractor and If I had any idea of the potential results I would have gone to see them right away not after the pain got unbearable. A+

Negative experience: Usually don't write reviews and am pretty understanding but was made to feel very uncomfortable at my first appointment and found the entire hour unprofessional. Mary was very sick and coughing throughout my entire appointment, did not wash her hands prior to my adjustment. After giving my medical history which included a psychiatrist given neurodivergent diagnosis, Mary made me justify why and what behaviours caused me to pursue a diagnosis before telling me everyone is a little like that and that maybe even she has it. Her receptionist came in mid consult, followed at a separate time by her young son and then again interrupted by the receptionist to let her know she had gotten things done and they discussed tasks she completed while I lay on the adjustment table. Did send an email expressing my concerns and why I would not be returning to no reply.

Fantastic experience: Christchurch wellness centre is an amazing chiropractor! Me and my friend came from Australia for a surf competition however I hurt my back really badly carrying luggage from the airport ( we were carrying really heavy long boards ). The next day I called up these guys and they were so accommodating, moving around their day to fit me in to their schedule. From the moment I arrived I felt so welcomed and well taken care of. The chiro itself was great. They spent plenty of time at the start asking about my health history and performing light tests on the areas in pain, which really put me at ease before the process begun. 10/10 better than any chiro back home, would consider flying to Christchurch again next time I need a chiro.

Fantastic experience: Having suffered for over 10 years from a neck injury and trying almost everything bar surgery, I decided to give Christchurch Wellness Centre a go just before Christmas. Mary and Chad have been outstanding! Right from the first appointment and consultation, Mary made me a promise that they will get me better. That promise has been fulfilled. After 12 weeks of treatment, the numbness down my left arm has almost completely disappeared. Fantastic experience: After child number two, my lower back was suffering. For over 7 years, the pain ranged from dull aches to being immobile from certain physical activities. My ability to being active and fun with my family was suffering. My GP would suggest... daily medication, stretching, exercises, lose weight etc. These were temporary solutions and at times counter active for me. She has been able to adjust my back with real success whilst making the appointments feel personal rather than an in and out in 2 minutes adjustment. Over the next twelve months my neck and back sensations reduced dramatically and the strength of my back improved. I used to feel my back tightening up after 20 minutes work in the garden or when helping out on my in-laws farm I'd need to stretch my back or lay down to allow my back to rest. Today, I removed a tree and stump without experiencing any pain, discomfort or need to stretch my back out. Fantastic experience: My partner and I went to Mary after he had some bad back pain and I had some lower back and neck pain. In the first appointment she examined us completely and explained everything very well. She takes time for her patients and is an energetic and lovely person. The adjustments were great and helped us very much. Even after the first adjustment we both felt relieved from pain. She also gives you tips and stretching exercise how you can help to prevent or easy the pain. She has a great work ethic and we felt well taken care of. We highly recommend going to her!

Fantastic experience: Mary and her team are spectacular. I stupidly put up with a bad neck for 3 weeks thinking it would get better and the pain and movement eventually got worse and pain migrated to my back limiting my movements. After 1 visit with Mary my neck was back to normal and after a few more sessions my back came back in line. Extremely recommended if you are looking for a Chiropractor in Canterbury, 5 stars isn't enough.
