Fantastic experience: As a teenager I had a bad fall from my horse. As I got up and kept going , it was presumed all was ok so no checks were done. Fast forward 50 or so years and I was having real trouble with tension up and down my back, my shoulders and neck. I was finally recommended a Chiro who I went for more than 5 years and initially got immediate relief but this did not last so was forever going back for more manipulations and as pain developed in different areas , I was told it was part of Aging. In the end I sought consultation from my body balancing naturopath who picked up the tension still there and recommended massage and osteopathy. I ended up at Unity. From my very first session with Mathew I was relieved of pain down my legs and have never had that pain since. It is now 11 months since I first saw him and I feel like and am just about normal again. He has been treating me for Scoliosis, Hip rotation and Sciatica. I no longer have an uneven waist, a belly button that is left of centre, one shoulder higher than the other nor a stiff neck. I really feel very fortunate to have found him. I have recommended him to several friends, all with different problems and he has helped them all significantly. I feel his interest in his profession and connected modalities transcends all his documented qualifications.

Fantastic experience: Have seen Matthew for 3 sessions now, focusing on a significant foot issue I have had for some months. The treatment I received in the first session was quite different than what I had received elsewhere with a physio, another osteo and a specialist podiatrist. Not only did the foot issue improve significantly after that first session, but the way the treatment included the whole body and nervous system meant I felt more balanced overall and now look forward to maintenance sessions moving forward.

Fantastic experience: I'm in my early eighties and a client of Matt (aka Unity Osteopathy). I first discovered osteopathy when I was a keen athlete in my mid-thirties (and as a health discipline I still swear by it). I have met a number of practitioners since then. Matt stands out (for me) as one who not only has superb manual skills but is prepared to go beyond the traditional envelope. My experience is that he does not jeopardise safety, and indeed emphasises it. The result is that he offers options that others may not. He has introduced me to the concept of running in barefoot style, and to doing heavy resistance work in the gym in order to rebuild lost muscle (or at least prevent further loss) which has limited my ability to continue running. These are still works in progress, but the results seem promising, and in particular are backed up by sound scientific research to which Matt has pointed me. Matt has become my mentor for my ambition to be running at ninety. For those wishing more conventional treatment, I also rate Matt among the best I have encountered among his profession. It is superfluous to say that I confidently recommend him and the art he practises.
