I had the joy of meeting Craig Dalton Osteopathy recently at his practice on Manners, right in the heart of the CBD. Craig is easy-going, kind, and has such a calm way of explaining things. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping people, not just treating them! I came away really impressed by both his knowledge and the way he approaches his work. Before becoming an osteopath, Craig spent ten years as a mechanical engineer. He was surprised to find that his skills solving complex problems and thinking critically translated very well into the world of osteopathy. After dealing with chronic back pain himself from years of martial arts and skateboarding, he decided to make a shift to help others experiencing the same thing. It was a big leap, but it's clear he found exactly what he was meant to do. Wellington always felt like home for Craig, and the exact type of place he wanted to raise a family, particularly loving the welcoming community and the unique balance between the active outdoors and city life. Now, alongside his wife and their 10-month-old daughter, we're lucky to have him here. When he’s not at his clinic you’ll find him on his skateboard or climbing at Faultline! Whether you've got a sports injury, a sore neck that's been hanging around for months (like me), or you've just been putting up with aches that you think are "normal", Craig is someone I'd recommend to get an easy to understand view of what’s really going on. You also don’t need a referral to see an Osteopath, they can lodge ACC claims for new injuries to help guide people through their recovery. Fantastic experience: I am a chronic pain sufferer with diffuse pain that moves from my neck to my upper back over my head and into my chest arm and foot. I have suffered for four years and done the full rounds of all the specialists. Craig sat and listened to my whole story, made me feel heard and then gently worked to alleviate tension in my hips and ribs. He listened to my concern about causing further pain flare ups with rough treatments or over treatment unlike other practitioners and was just a very decent human being! I have been twice and have had two pain free mornings so far. There is more work to do, but this is a revelation. I recommend Craig to anyone who is fed up with being treated like a set of disconnected body parts. Also recommend if you have had a diagnosis like fibromyalgia and feel like you are out in the cold with no hope of relief.

Fantastic experience: I am a touring cyclist and was experiencing shooting pains and numbness in my left arm/shoulder because of a pinched nerve at the top of my neck. Even though I was in Wellington for a short period of time, Craig was able to fit in 3 sessions of treatment for me. Craig's communication was excellent. He explained the cause and advised what I could implement in the future to reduce recurrence. He also sent a link to a nerve glide exercise session that included correct execution videos. Thank you Craig, after 3 treatment sessions, I can feel the massive improvement in range of movement, and I am very grateful for the return of undisturbed sleep. After 1 visit Craig somehow resolved a shoulder problem I had for years. I had several treatments while in Chch and Craig' assesment was spot on and differed from many others i have visited. Fantastic experience: I went to Craig every 2-3 weeks for a 6 month period. I think the thing that’s most special about Craig is that his skills are always tailored to you and your needs. Every session he sort out where my body most needed therapy and I felt he really listened to where I’m at. My chronic lower back pain has eased since seeing him and I’m also walking away with a HEAP of knowledge and understanding about why my pain is the way it is. I’d recommend the 90 minute sessions so he can really get into parts that need it the most. I only stopped seeing him since I’m moving back to the UK!
